The famous Santa Teresa tramways! The tramways which link downtown Rio de Janeiro to the Santa Teresa district, are not only a real means of transportation for neighborhood residents or even tourists who want to visit the place. They are an attraction of the city, they are part of the local scenery and have even become postcards.

The initial station is at Lélio Gama Street, near the Carioca subway station. The departures occur at intervals of 15 and 20 minutes and cost R$ 20. The amount is paid on the way and the return is included.
